07/15/17 - Norma Caba Remembered
Norma Caba Remembered
|
07-15-17: After today's membership meeting, a special ceremony was held out at the island between the two vehicle gates to remember Norma Caba. Norma was a caretaker at Safari, board member, volunteer, and a person with a sunny disposition especially when gardening.
The Safari Board decided to plant an evergreen and a rose bush in her honor along with a plaque in her memory. She loved roses and this one is appropriately named "Mother of Pearl."
Sue Buzzard, Safari's Secretary read a brief history of her connections to Safari. Luree Reagan then read a moving tribute from her son, Randy, about his mom.
After the tributes, the rose bush was planted and watered by Sue and then Luree uncovered the memorial plaque in Norma's honor.
