12/11/17 - New Shop Update
New Shop Update
|
12-11-17: Here is an update and timeline for Safari’s new shop project. After approval for a new shop at the September meeting, drawings and engineering plans were submitted to the County for approval of necessary building permits. The estimated time of receiving the permits is mid April, at which time construction will start. We have also found out from the county that we can move the back side of the building further to the fence line thus allowing for a slightly larger building size at a very small incremental cost. This will give us more space while not having the building be located too close to Perimeter so it will not dominate the street view.
To prepare the site for the new building, we will need help from the Safari community. Prior to construction the site must be, “flat, level and accessible for construction and material delivery”. To accomplish this we need volunteers, to help with the following:
Empty the shop and stow materials in the storage trailer and Storage POD
Demolish the old shop
Bust up the concrete floors and move the pieces behind the lodge
Have Arbor Care drop two trees after the old shop is gone
Remove old stump presently behind the shop
Put in underground utilities - plumbing and electric and drainage
So we are looking for a few good men and women, to lend a hand. And if one is an electrician that would be very good.
Work will start in earnest mid March 2018 but anything we can do before will be helpful. Please contact Terry at 360 921-3323 if you are interested, so we can start fine tuning this plan.
