Electricity Usage Up and Bills Coming Soon
|
03-02-17: The amount of electricity used this past winter at Safari is much higher than this same time last year. No doubt, this is due to the very cold temperatures and snow, ice, and wind that mother nature has thrown at us. As an example, Safari's bill for February 2016 was $12,159.84. This past February it is $17,360.20. That's an increase of $5,200.36 or a 42% increase.
As you know, Safari bills electricity back to the members based on your meter readings. For those of you who are in the park over the winter or those who leave electric heaters on in your units, you can expect to see a significantly higher electricity charge on the next billing.
That billing will be coming out at the end of this month. Besides your electricity billing, you will have a charge for $400 for half the annual dues and the combined charge for the Charter Spectrum cable TV and internet. While we won't know that exact amount until we see the first bill, we expect the charge to be less than $24 per month. That compares favorably with the past amount of $25.99 ($16.06 for cable TV and $9.95 for WiFi).
