New Tarp Restrictions Begin July 20

06-21-17: At the last membership meeting, the board invited members to give input on proposed tarp rules. Overall, the response was heavily in favor of restricting tarps, especially the blue ones. A number of members have subsequently given their ideas on how to improve the proposed rules. For the most part, members suggested that some items be even more specific than they were and that the board be allowed to extend the use of a blue tarp for an additional one-time 30 day period.
A member also suggested that the consequences of violating the rules be spelled out in detail so there would be no misunderstanding. The board decided to use the same penalty structure as for those who violate the dog poop pickup rules. The first violation is $100, the second is $500, and the third results in termination of membership. The board is hoping that by having stiff penalties, members will be motivated to follow the rules rather than violate them.
At the board meeting yesterday, the revised rules were adopted and set to go into effect on July 20. The adopted version of the rules are available in the documents section on this website.
