02/16/17 - Charter Update
Charter Update
|
02-16-17: The implementation date for the Bulk Charter Internet service that was approved by the members at the last September meeting is fast approaching. Everything so far is on track for an April 1 switch over.
To get things going, Charter will be in the park over the next 5 weeks checking the signal on all the cable connections to make sure that there is no interference to any of the units. If they find any problems, they will need to be repaired. Of course, if the member is in the park, then all they need to do is knock on the door.
But if the member is not in the park, they will notify a board member. For some units, members have left extra keys in the office and a board member will then escort Charter to the unit and remain with them the entire time they are in the unit. If we do not have keys for the unit, then the board member will attempt to contact the member over the phone to make arrangements to have Charter enter the unit.
If a problem is found in the wiring that goes from the power pedestal into the unit, Charter may require that it be repaired or the cable will be disabled so as to not interfere with the other Safari members. This will also then affect the digital TV service. In all these cases, members will be contacted for approval prior to repair if there is any cost involved.
We know there are a lot of questions on the program and the implementation process. We have attempted to answer these in the CHARTER SPECTRUM INTERNET FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS document that can be found on the documents tab of this web site. As we get more information, this document will be updated with the new information in red. Be sure to check the website at least once a week for any updates. If you have any questions, email Dave at raider@aceweb.com.
