07-06-18: Effective Monday, July 9, 2018, Pacific County is implementing a burn ban on all outdoor burning. There will be no burning of brush, weeds, trash or construction materials.
Recreational campfires are allowed if built in improved fire pits in designated campgrounds. The campfire shall be no greater than 3 feet in diameter and in a ring constructed of metal, stone or brick.
The campfire shall have an area of at least 10 feet around it cleared of all flammable material and at least 20 feet of clearance from overhead flammable materials.
The campfire must be attended at all times by a responsible person with the ability to extinguish the fire with a shovel and 5 gallon bucket of water. Completely extinguish campfires by pouring water and stirring with a shovel until all parts are cool.
