Entry Gate Puddle - UPDATED

11-23-17: UPDATE: Mike & Anne have the pump up and working now. The puddle mentioned below is already down several inches. Thanks Mike & Anne!
ORIGINAL STORY: The Safari entry gate has a puddle that you should be careful when going through it. The puddle at its deepest point is no more than seven inches and should not pose a problem for most cars. Those that sit close to the ground though, should go extra slow when transiting the area.
Greg Allen went and surveyed the pond this morning and measured its depth at various spots to make sure that cars could go through it. At the gate entrance, the depth is only 3-4 inches and if you can go right when entering, the water is no more than 6 inches deep. Greg also took the attached pictures for publishing on the web site.
The puddle is actually caused by the lagoons not draining properly due to all the rain. There apparently a drain in the gate area but it flows into the nearest lagoon which is full of water too. Safari President Terry Stark looked into this problem earlier this week and we are hopeful of a more permanent solution soon.
In the meantime, Vice President Anne Rogers is recruiting her husband Mike to connect up a pump to try to control this entry gate problem.
So again, drive slowly through the entry gate!
