Come see the latest garden improvements in bridges and benches. Thank you Mary Morse, Merna Folkerts, and Wayne Jipsen.
Keep a look out for new Self-Guided Tour Garden signs.
JULY 4th PARADE
Once again, this year, we will be having the July 4th parade around the park. If you have a golf cart, bicycle, or similar conveyance, decorate it up and join the fun. We will also have our hayride as a part of the parade, so you can participate in the parade by riding the hayride. Participants and hay riders will gather at the lodge at 9:30 am. We will start the parade at 10am and will visit every street in the park.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN RIDING ON THE HAYRIDE, please send me an email at president@safari-ilwaco.org with your name and site number and the number of persons you will be bringing. If you require assistance getting to the hayride, indicate that also and we will arrange a golf cart to pick you up and take you home. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
SAFARI DAYS
Yes, it is time to start planning for Safari Days for the Labor Day weekend. If you missed it last year, you missed some great events. Tammie Ohrman is coordinating the event this year and is looking for folks to volunteer to help. With your help, you can help us make Safari Days even better this year. Please contact Tammie at (505) 252-8940 to get details and sign up.
SITE IMPROVEMENT PERMITS
Summer is upon us and that is usually when we see many of you implementing improvements to your sites, many of which will require an approved Safari Site Improvement Permit (SIP). A few things to remember: First, when you turn in a SIP, be sure to include the $30 processing fee. Second, when it gets busy, it can take two weeks for us to get to your permit because of the volume and we do them in the order received. We are all volunteers, so our time is often limited. So, the sooner you turn it in, the sooner you will have it processed. Lastly, we will let you know if your SIP will require a Pacific County building permit. If you go to the county first and pay their fees and then your permit is denied at Safari or you make material changes to it, you may have problems getting back the money you paid the county. So, file with Safari first!
