Safari Update 08/03/23
I hope everyone is enjoying our wonderful summer weather here at the beach! I also hope that a lot of you will come to the Meet and Greet get together on Saturday in the outback park, by the dog park. Bring a chair and beverage of your choice.
Ballots should be going out next week. You can print yours from your email notice, or pick up a printed one from the office. Ballots will have directions for filling them out and returning them.
New electric meters are all installed. John Landry, Ben Berry, Dick Santoro did the work so we owe them a big THANK YOU! 322 units now all have electronic meters and their electricity usage will be recorded accurately. Some of the old meters were under reporting the usage which caused the member to pay less that the correct amount. So they will notice a slightly higher, but more accurate, amount for electricity in the future.
The Spectrum swap to new equipment is going well, though with some random hiccups. One thing to note is we were originally told when calling in to ask for sales. Actually, we want “Bulk Tenant Customer Support.” Also, if you call for them to do the installation of the new equipment, be sure to tell them NOT to disconnect your old equipment. Since appointments are running about a week out, you don’t want to lose the internet when they schedule the installation.
Ben Berry, Safari's Vice President, created a short video to answer some questions and clear up some misunderstandings about how Safari works. He talks about the committees, how rules are made, the board of directors and other important topics. You will find the link for this video on the MySafari page of our website under “MySafari Videos.” That is the best way to watch them because Google cannot easily track your viewing. You can watch it on YouTube directly using the link https://youtu.be/ZynXpROPE6M but you forfeit the tracking protection.
Take care, everyone!
Linda Hitzeman,
Interim President
